Kidz up north - 2004
Thursday 25th November 2004 saw the annual Kidz up north exhibition take place, a wonderful event highlighting the issue of disabled living within children.
J-U-M-P were proud to take part in this fantastic event we were situated on level 1 with various other voluntary support organisations. We felt that we excelled ourselves at this event and have finally achieved some of the exposure we needed, not for our own gratification but to raise awareness of the valuable services we offer.
The feedback from visitors and organisers was very encouraging indeed. The whole team on that day commented on how humble we felt surrounded by all of those strong special people, both children and parents, it was a pleasure to meet them all.
During a truly fantastic and enlightening day we had the pleasure of filming the fashion show hosted by some of those special children, it was a truly inspirational performance that brought tears to the eyes of anyone lucky enough to watch it. Copies of the fashion show and the event as a whole will be available shortly.
So many people gave up their valuable time to share the experience of a brilliant event that was organised by Sonia Greaves. Others in attendance were Tanni Thompson OBE, members of the Bolton Wanders Football team as well as Sam Alladyce, all of these people added to the magic of the event.
Our Chairperson Chris Hawthorn took to the floor for a round table discussion at 1.30pm and was impressive in her delivery describing what J-U-M-P is all about and where we would like to go. A big thank you goes out to the whole team for a tremendous effort, one that will truly take J-U-M-P as a charity forward.

Kidz up north - 2005
This event is held annually at the Reebok Stadium Bolton and is hosted by Disabled Living. The event is the only one of its kind in the UK and attracts people from nationwide. The 2 day event is very well supported and there are two levels of activities. The lower level of the conference hall is completely dedicated to businesses which provide all the latest equipment and technology to help with disability.
The upper tier is dedicated to the many local charities that attend and support this event. Also in attendence are many local celebrities including the Bolton Wanderers football team. J-U-M-P were attending Kidz up North for the second year running, our main aim in support of this event is to produce a DVD of the fashion show.
This is the highlight of Kidz up North as the show is brilliantly put together, involving young people with disabilities every step of the way. This year J-U-M-P introduced our mascot Tiggeroo, who was involved during the fashion show. Photos were taken and given out inside a card specially produced for Kidz up North.
All children who had taken part in the fashion show have now received a copy of the DVD. During the day we had many visitors to the J-U-M-P stand and as a result we have approached to provide our very unique service. Once again this event was very well attended by our members, allowing us the exposure and promotion of our charity to the many people attending the event.
Overall a very successful event for J-U-M-P, our many thanks for the support of all members who attended and a special note of thanks to our photographers, your efforts are very much appreciated. Last but not least, Jason... You make a very difficult task look very easy!

Kidz up north - 2007
Once again we have attended the annual exhibition of equipment and services supporting disabled children, Kidz Up North.
This event has a range of service and equipment providers and also a number of charities like J-U-M-P attend. The stand looked very impressive with our colourful give away pens and bugs and leaflets and our new pop up banner provided by Creation Signs. Wow ! what a response this year.
The stand was very busy almost from the word go with people wanting to know more about us and what service we provide. Gaz, Paul, Christie, Chris and newcomer Josh Morris all attended and manned the stand and a stint as Tiggeroo for Chris and Josh. Steve Hawthorn also visited during the day to lend support. Kate and a colleague from KC Imaging came along and took over 60 pictures of the children and young people at the event with our mascot Tiggeroo.
The pictures were given away on the day as memory gifts in a J-U-M-P folder provided for the event. Everyone loved Tiggeroo he is a real star with the children and some of the adults too. We came away after a long but very rewarding day having taken several contact names for families who wanted us support them. It was a very good day !
The quote of the day was from Josh Morriss aged 13 our latest volunteer recruit who said " It makes your heart smile when the children laugh at Tiggeroo " That says it all ! Thanks to our fantastic team on the day for their support Chris Hawthorn Chairperson
