The first fundraising event for J-U-M-P was held on Easter Sunday 2004. The night was hosted by Monks Sports Club to whom we owe a great deal for their tireless support, music on the evening was provided by local DJ Paul Lyons.
The evening proved to be a massive success. Many people took the time to attend in fancy dress depicting their favorite 80's pop artist or superhero. Family and friends also took time out to come and support our first event. In between the dancing we held a raffle and a game of stand up bingo. During the evening we received telephone calls from people who could not attend but wanted to contribute, so they sponsored various people to dance for donations.
A special thanks went out to Les Naylor from the Nelsons Quarterdeck in Birchwood who came along to present us with a cheque for £312 which had been raised by the way of a sponsored slim. We thanked Les and all from the Quarterdeck who helped raise the funds and for choosing our charity to receive the monies raised. "Thank You"
During the course of the evening we raised nearly £1100. Thanks to everyone who took the time to help out on the night and those who attended, for their generosity and support. We would also like to give a big thank you to Linda Stout who's tireless efforts on the night ensured the event ran smoothly. "thank you Linda".
